Marcus Smolka is a Professor in the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, and Interim Director of the Weill Institute for Cell and Molecular Biology.  The Smolka lab’s fundamental research interest is in the mechanisms of genome maintenance, and we focus on the key roles of DNA damage checkpoint kinases (ATR, ATM, CHK1 and CHK2).
