Marcus Smolka is a Professor in the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics. He was named Associate Vice Provost in Research & Innovation in May 2025. The Smolka lab’s fundamental research interest is in the mechanisms of genome maintenance, and we focus on the key roles of DNA damage checkpoint kinases (ATR, ATM, CHK1 and CHK2).
